Dubbo shooter crowned top gun in grade.

21 shooters from Dubbo field and game clay target club joined shooters from all states in Australia and New Zealand to take part in the 38th Australia Sporting Clays National championships held at the Mudgee Windermere Shooting Complex last Friday, Saturday & Sunday.

Over three days, more than 300 shooters from as far west as Western Australia to across the Tasman, shot at 225 targets - 75 targets each day - to become national champions across grades AA,A,B,C, Seniors, Veterans, Super Veterans, Ladies & Sub Juniors.

Dubbo Shooter Craig MacPherson (pictured) was crowned the 38th Australia Sporting Clays National C grade champion. Craig won by 10 shots from his nearest rival.

Craig was congratulated by all Dubbo club members and his greatest supporters wife Danielle and children Jake, Ryan & Gemma.

Other Dubbo shooters with honours were Luke Cross 7th A grade, Brett Hall 5th B grade & Ben Hooper well placed in C grade.

Dubbo ladies were well represented with Michelle Hooper and Jenny Rushton -Butler shooting some personal best scores.

Sub Juniors Abygael Rushton  - Butler & Angus Brander showed how they could be the champions of tomorrow with good results achieved.

The Dubbo field and game clay target club will be hosting its club championships across all grades sponsored by Luke Cross Engineering & Rigging on Sunday 26th October 2014.

Under the current NSW firearm licensing arrangements interested people who have no firearms licence can try out the sport under supervision. You will be made most welcome.
