February Club Shoot B grade blitzkrieg
There was a great turnout of 60 shooters last Saturday 22nd February for the Dubbo Field and Game clay target club monthly shoot with prizes across all grades proudly sponsored by our great friends Duncan McGuiness veterinary surgeon and Brennan’s MITRE 10 Dubbo.
When totalling results at the end of the day a phenomenon occurred where none of the AA grade or A grade scores would have won B grade including the High Gun won by “not for B grade much longer” Colin Dorman who shot a very impressive 84.
Colin commented that it was the best he has ever shot, I had the pleasure of being in Colin’s squad and seeing him in action and he certainly was on fire.
It was also fantastic to see so many ladies out competing on the range on the day and the new kids play area with video and other amusement is a credit to the club in promoting a family inclusive event. Whoever thought of that idea you deserve a pat on the back!
Big thanks to our range setters Steven Cooper & Rob Murray along with Peter Rea and Bob Fergusson who came up with a cracker of a range with a great mixture of target presentation and varying difficulties. The BBQ lunch was a treat followed by some outstanding deserts that would have gained out a 10 from Manu and Pete on MKR.
Danielle McPherson did her usual million and one thing’s for the club during the day along with keeping the office running smoothly with score sheets updated and uploaded to the television.
Overall results were:
High Gun: Colin Dorman 84
AA Grade: Peter Kay 79.
A Grade: Chris Bourke 82, Chris Everett 79 and Luke Cross 77
B Grade: Stephen Cooper 83, Stephen Smith 82, Rob Murray 80
C Grade: Ken Purvis 67, Mark Hosking 76, Simon Richardson 63
Seniors: Milton Cartwright 79, John Sidoti 76, Jake Guzelian 75
Veterans: Denis Coaker 78, Les Townsend 63, Bob Richardson 53
Ladies: Michelle Hooper 66, Mel Phillips 57 Jen Rushton 47
Juniors: Michael Vaughan 75
Sub juniors: Bryce Barker 48
See you all at the Dubbo state selection shoot 7th March followed the next day on the 8th by the much looked forward to Guns & Game and Peter Kay gunsmith shoot.
If you’re not there you will need a note.
