Sunday 19th October brought 9th Pink shoot to Narromine Sporting Clays.

Weather was set to be lovely and hot but living up to our name, it was windy! Thankfully it settled down mid-morning. There was a few red faces enjoying the air conditioner during lunch.

Unfortunately numbers weren’t as high as we would of liked them to be, harvest has taken a number of shooters out, but 57 shooters came out to have a crack and all enjoyed themselves.

Shoot offs between Ken & Andy for 2nd & 3rd in A Grade also Jason & Greg for the same places in B Grade were hotly contested and scores were tight.

Ken, Paula, Aliza, Henry, Chris & Tony set about creating 2 x 50 target ranges. With Aliza and Henry in charge on range 1, Ken backed it up on range 2.

Targets on offer ranged from sneaky simm pairs of rabbits, sky high teals, crossers over the 2 dams, incomers and outgoers high and low. There was something for everyone and all level of skills.

The clubhouse had been coated in pink, trophies for the winners, a 12 prize raffle, 100 & 200 club and a large variety of items for the auction including a very nice cow hide rug.

Winner of the lucky door prize was Jenny Walton and Shooters Jackpot going off at $300 to Paula Purvis who donated it back to the McGrath Foundation.

Would like to say thank you to all who jumped in and assisted with setting up, cleaning, cooking, office duties, ticket selling, packing up and especially to all that stayed for presentation.

To those wonderful people that donated items to auction & raffle – thank you, I wont try to name them all incase I miss somebody.

The auction was fast and furious thanks to Hallys gift of the gab auctioneering skills. We may have to give the spotters abit more training though! Items were flying around the club house. Thank you to everyones generosity bidding on the items.

At time of going to print close to $5000 has been raised for the McGrath Foundation.

Well Done to Warren “Wazza” Thorpe who took home High Gun along with a 25 Break Badge with an impressive 93.
