Bloinky, Horse & Murray created 2 ranges of 52 for the day and what great targets! Horse and Murray were responsible for range one – you know the ones with the rabbits in the gully while Bloinky went solo on range 2 but you would of guessed that because those blasted mixo rabbits turned up at the end with 2 simm pairs.

Using the scissor lift and 2 high incomes across the small dam, shooters then went along to a couple of slippery little suckers in the creek and an ascending outgoer. If they didn’t get your gun moving then the next stand did. 2 rabbit traps – what could be tricky about that, well adding in the bumps, lumps and holes of the creek bed sending them high, low and then sneaking off into the grass on the other side. 2 double barrels, c/r and a simm kept shooters on their toes. Finishing the first range was a teal, battue and a right to left low looper.

Shooters then dragged their bottom lip or skipped onto the next range starting at the black duck dam. Where a super midi outgoer and an incommer was waiting – which way did you shoot the simm? Onto the staircase there was a diving right to left, outgoer from the left and a left to right slight looper off the skeet tower. The diver did try a few shooters out.

Walking over to the dam which by the way looks really good after the rain we received at the range, hasn’t been that full for a while. The F troop tower came into play with a high incommer dropping rather quickly when it came to the end of its flight path, left to right from behind the dam bank paired with a right to left high bird from near the rabbit tower.

Who knew we had a 2nd super midi trap! I think a few wished we didn’t. A simple outgoer thru the trees, a curling incommer landing right in front of you. Simm pair consisted of the super midi and incommer, you could not waste anytime otherwise the only way the incommer broke is when it hit the dirt!

Lastly but certainly not least was the mixo rabbits – this is the stand where those rabbits can and will roll straight thru your shot, smile and come to rest fully intact. Known to bring grown men to cry.

Thank you to our sponsors, Bourke, Rees & Bloink families for another great day.

A big thank you goes to Tarnia North who ran the office. Shes not even a member but threw her hand up to help us. Your assistance is always welcome and appreciated.

We had a caterer out for the weekend  - thanks goes to Kerry and her girls for jumping in at the last minute. Everyone enjoyed the menu and we hope to see her out there again.

Winner of the lucky door prize was Lance North and winner of the Shooters jackpot was Christopher Donnantuoni who was ineligible so jackpotted to $250 for Sunday.

Winners are Grinners

Stephen Cooper and Murray Rees tied for high gun and made the call to split the $500 meaning another shooter was brought up into the top 9.
