State Selection #5 17th May 2025

What a great day for the 5th State Selection. No rain, just sunshine and a little bit of a breeze throughout the day – something different for Narromine. 84 Shooters came out to play and competition was fierce!

What a great day for the 5th State Selection. No rain, just sunshine and a little bit of a breeze throughout the day – something different for Narromine.

84 Shooters came out to play and competition was fierce!

The course was a great setup. PK and his range setters put their brains into gear and brought some challenging clays. There were some targets that were technical which made quite a few shooters walk out scratching their heads unable to read the flight paths.

In order to keep things moving along smoothly, there were two ranges with 5 stands presenting 5 targets each. There were plenty of decent targets on offer and if you missed them it was of your fault as they were all out there to be hit.

Squads moved through quickly which allowed shootoffs and presentation to progress and those heading home left in daylight.

Plenty of campers got to catch up with their fellow shooter friends throughout the afternoon and well into the night.

We had the PCYC from Dubbo catering and they kept us all fed with some delicious food.

12 teams nominated for the State Teams event from clubs such as Cooma, Gunnedah, Mudgee, Shoalhaven and Narromine. Team Mudgee 3 took home the winners trophies this time… with a total of 309 targets for the 3 points. Well shot to Bart Brighenti, Steve Payne, Steve Tydd & Ross Christian who made up Mudgee 3 team with an impressive 309 targets and they took home the trophies. Shoalhaven came in 2nd and Narromine 3rd.

Don’t forget to put teams in for each selection!

Thank you to all those who assisted in anyway, especially to the members that gave up their day of shooting to make sure the day ran smoothly.

Thanks to Ang from Clay Bustin Photos for taking photos throughout the day and of presentation, so make sure you check her page out to view them all.

Thanks to all that came out for the day.

Winners Are Grinners

Congratulations to Charlie North who took out Overall High Gun for the day with an impressive 85.
